Multatuli Lecture
The Multatuli Lecture Netherlands Foundation aims to contribute to the debate on the value of democracy and peace for international and local society. To that end, a lecture is organised every two years in the Grote Kerk Breda. This year's Multatuli Lecture will take place on Thursday 21 November at 7.30pm with Marcia Luyten as speaker. The theme ‘The word as a weapon’ explores the power of language to heal or destroy.
Words matter. Words are used in politics, media, literature and street language to shape communities, express identity and influence social change. Frénk van der Linden engages with rapper Fresku to explore together the enduring power of words in different contexts.
