Just before the holidays, the cosiest time of the year, the Grote Kerk Breda will open its doors for a unique and atmospheric programme. Come along, be enchanted by the monumental interior and decorate the one and only church Christmas ball, do a light treasure hunt or visit the benefit Christmas market.

Scavenger hunt and colouring
On Saturday 14 December, young and old can show their most original side. Decorate a unique church Christmas ball, come along on our new scavenger hunt and colour in with our creative Father Christmas. The Breda choir Kleurrijk will sing atmospheric international Christmas carols at 14:30 and 15:30.

Both the Church Christmas Ball and the scavenger hunt are available at the reception desk.
Christmas market
On Sunday 15 December, Foundation d'n Vuilen Oek organises a benefit Christmas market full of fun and entertainment for young and old, bursting with entertainment with playful market stalls, fashion shows, music and an auction.

Proceeds from this afternoon will benefit the restoration of the Hillen organ, scheduled for 2025.

Route and parking
Coming by train? The Grote Kerk Breda is a 10-minute walk from Breda railway station. The church is also easily accessible by bus. You can walk to us in a few minutes from the Karnemelkstraat or Vlaszak bus stops.
Coming by bike or moped? Then park in one of the free bicycle parking facilities. Improperly parked bicycles are regularly removed by the municipality.
Coming by car? The car parks De Prins and De Barones are closest to the Grote Kerk Breda. Click here for general information on parking in Breda.
