Lying-down concert
Would you like to wake up relaxed with hypnotic sounds during a minimalist neo-classical lying-down concert®? On Sunday morning, 14 December, Eric Vloeimans (trumpet) and Aart Bergwerff (organ) will perform Canto Ostinato live in the Grote Kerk Breda.
The meditative, repetitive tones of Canto Ostinato invite you to slow down and reflect. As you lie down and listen, the music helps you to relax, connect with yourself and experience how the sounds resonate beneath the painted vaults and within the acoustics of the centuries-old Grote Kerk Breda.
Aart and Eric were nominated for an Edison Klassiek 2025 award for their live recording of Canto. Together, they create a meditative, almost intimate experience in the exhibition René! I'm Still Standing – About love and loss.
Aart Bergwerff x Eric Vloeimans
Aart Bergwerff is an internationally renowned organist and organist at the Grote Kerk in Breda. He is known for his crossover programmes in which he combines classical and contemporary music.
Eric Vloeimans is an internationally acclaimed trumpeter and composer, known for his unique, expressive style that combines jazz, minimal music and improvisation.
Practical information
- Bring a cushion, mat and/or sleeping bag.
- Wear comfortable, warm clothing.
- Find your own comfortable spot in the church, lying down or sitting, and immerse yourself in the meditative sounds of Canto Ostinato.
- There are a limited number of chairs available.
- Doors open at 10.30 a.m., concert starts at 11 a.m., concert ends at 12.15 p.m.
