Mondo Perfetto
Performance
In Mondo Perfetto, Corpo Máquina artistic director Guilherme Miotto explores how our thinking influences movement and how movement shapes the mind.
In concert-performance Mondo Perfetto, Corpo Máquina's artistic director Guilherme Miotto presents a mix of waves and impulses. He tries to find a way to share the layered reality with audiences in which the players find themselves in the simplicity of movement. Monumental gestures and sounds dismantled into steps and rhythms. A church-like theatre, a place of rituals. Where we gather to contemplate, in search of a path.
Guilherme performs as a dancer himself, together with dancer Julia Nielsen. Percussionist Pedro Paixão plays Bach live on the marimba. In an open and shared space, Mondo Perfetto unravels intentions hidden deep inside the body. The strategy here is to approach all elements in the performance - presence, thoughts, imagination, dance, music - as vibrations. Vibrations that are deployed to question and blur the boundaries by which the players are separated from each other and the environment. This creates a desire for unity within a reality we often experience in everyday life as fragmented and scattered.
Concert-performance Mondo Perfetto creates a space in which the audience feels invited to be in the here and now, letting go of references and letting their own imagination run wild.
